American business mogul Kim Kardashian got emotional as she tested positive for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when one’s body’s immune system attacks one’s tissues and organs, while rheumatoid arthritis, on the other hand, is an inflammatory disorder affecting body joints, including those in the hands and feet.
Kim Kardashian could not help but burst into tears at the news of the diagnosis. See video here.
The fashionpreneur had gotten a call from her doctor, Daniel Wallace while last night’s premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ 17th season was ongoing, notifying her of the results.
He further tried to calm her down, adding that the diagnosis may not mean she has the disease. “Your antibodies are positive for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Sometimes you can get false positives in these screenings.”, Dr Wallace explained.
Getting support from her mom Kris and sisters Kylie and Khloe while she wiped her tears, Kim admitted that her next few days will be hell. “You know, you really do get in your head and think about the worst possible things that can happen. So, for the next few days, it’s gonna be really hell…living, wondering what I have, what’s going on and how to fix this”, she said.
The 38-year-old mother of four who has also been struggling with psoriasis, an autoimmune condition before her latest diagnosis, expressed her worry and fear for her life. “Lately, my wrists have started to hurt again, but it’s definitely a different feeling than before. I feel this, like, in my bones. I just am, like, freaking out“, she reportedly told Metro.
