Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has said he told his players to go all out for victory, in their Africa Cup of Nations third-place playoff against Tunisia on Wednesday.
Odion Ighalo’s early goal ensured that Nigeria clinched a record-extending bronze.
For Rohr, it made up for the disappointment of losing in the last minute to Algeria in the semi-final.
“I told my players that it would be better to end with a win than a loss.
“We were disappointed at not making the final, but ending with a win is a good thing,” the German told a press conference after the match.
